When dealing with video card driver's are you better off using the ones from the chipset manufacturer or the ones from the card manufacturer?

I just upgraded to a x800xt from gigabyte.

The drivers on ATI's site are 6.14.10.6483 ..... no catalyst control center if you don't want it.

The drivers on Giga's site are 6.14.10.6476.... comes with catalyst control center. Which i'm unsure if i like it or not.

Any sugestions on if it's even worth overclocking the card? They have this nice new option where the card moniters the temp of the gpu and overclocks the card to just where it's about to get hot and keeps it nice and safe. (from what i understand lol)

Use the ATI drivers. As for the ATI Control Center, it's personal preference - I don't use it, but it's your choice.

I just use the ATI Cat 4.9 drivers - anything that comes from ATI is the probably the most guarenteed driver you can get.
