Which of the ATI Radeon X series will be AGP? Or are they just going to be PCI-Express?

The X800 series (Pro and XT) are both on AGP8X as well as future plans on PCI-E. ATI is planning, I believe, to get the X700s on AGP8X as well.

Cool, thanks kram. What cards are there going to be in the X series? I've heard of the X800, X700 and the X600. Is there going to be anymore?

There are four series actually - the X800, X700, X600s and the X300s - their budget line. Actually, I'm not entirely sure on whether they are going AGP on the X700 series, but from what I've searched, they said they would...I may be wrong there.

I'm looking into upgrading my vid card sometime in the next six months and i'm either going to go with an 9800 pro or the X300 since i probably will not have to much money. I don't want to buy a new mobo to accomadate for the PCI-Express however so i'm still looking for an AGP vid card. is the X300 going to be availible in AGP?

Seems like
ATI is not planning to let AGP die out so soon and it seems that plans for AGP versions of both the X600 and X300 boards are well under wayhttp://www.megagames.com/news/html/hardware/x300-600pci-eandagp.shtml
By then, the prices would be quite different from how they are today. I would wait until then to further consider the possibility.

Awesome, thanks a lot kram!
When are these AGP versions going to come around?
EDIT: Hmm, i was checking out some of the X300's at newegg and it looks like they don't offer to much. Would they really be an upgrade from a 9800 or what i have now, a 9600xt?

They are no where near the performance of a 9600 XT of 9800.

Would anyone be able to suggest a good 9800? Should i go with the xt or pro? ATI or Third Party? If third party, which ones are good?

If you want to go with AGP 8X socket, it's a good time to do so - the Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 256-bit, I believe, is around 200 USD and gives one heck of a punch for its price.

Yep, thats exactly what i wanna go for. Will the price drop anytime soon, or will it actually be going up?
EDIT: Is this the one u mean Kram: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-294&depa=0
EDIT: Oops, didn't look down further. There was a couple more that were out of stock that were around the price u posted. Thanks kram!

Seems like the prices on the Radeon 9800 Pro have kicked up A LOT...50 USD price boost to me, is pretty substantial. However, I think I've found a better deal...the <a href="http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/product.asp?pid=5454&sid=PKQ62DHVAQ6S9GT1QP07TB2P14KXF0N9">Sapphire Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB</a>, which is an old but still very good card (a little under the 9800 Pro on benchmarks). I don't know too much about the store AllStarShop but I've heard it recommended before and at 163 USD, it's hard to not recommend.

if you wanted a card and could wait, i would buy after holiday season ends. this is around the time of year when manufacturers try to push thier products at higher prices.
