A friend of mine just received a usb mini ipod as a present. The problem is that she has Windows 98(ipods are compatible only with win2k+)... Has anyone else found a way around this problem??? I know there have been complaints but are there any solutions? I DLed and installed the 1.11a software for windows. I read that real player v10.5 plus can transfer onto ipods but im having trouble (saved songs in library won't paste into the apple ipod burn/transfer section- cant transfer them onto the ipod).
I first tried a winamp plug in for the ipod but i couldnt figure out how to give the ipod a drive letter in windows98 and it couldn't detect it. I wasnt sure which driv e letter to format. I have tried the winampl plug in and real player , anyone know of any alternatives?
Do any other companies' hard drive mp3s work with win98? I am assuming yes since they are windows based companies (HP for example). Sorry if this seems like a ramble - if anymore info is needed please ask. Any help is appreciated.
