Hi Everybody,

Just wondering what the difference is in these 2 HDs.......?

Maxtor 300GB Sata 16MB (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=100719)

Maxtor 300GB Ultra ATA/133 16MB (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=100719-3)

Is it JUST the IDE vs. Sata interface.......?

They are both 16mb cache with Native command queing (ie, Sata ll)......

Any Thoughts.....?

I guess this answers my question:

Maxtor Diamond 10 (http://www.maxtor.com/portal/site/Maxtor/menuitem.ba88f6d7cf664718376049b291346068/?channelpath=/en_us/Products/ATA%20Hard%20Drives/Desktop/DiamondMax%2010)

Yes, that looks to be the only difference. The first one is SATA and the second is IDE.

Zipzoomfly doesn't seem to work in firefox, so I can't follow the links. Sata is meant to have a higher bandwidth, and so might make a slight performance difference with the drives. Other than that, from the names, I cannot see anything that would be different. See if it says the access times in the specs.

I edited my post with the Maxtor Diamond 10 link........apparently they are the same drive with different interfaces...........
