Yah im a noob when it comes to computer terms so if someone can give me a basic defintion.

I have also seen post about problems loading XP concerning SATA and certain motherboards I would like to use SOLTEK "SL-K8AN2E-GR" for my computer and it says this in the specs

2x SATA RAID with 0,1,0+1 by nFORCE 3 250Gb, 2x SATA RAID with 0,1,1+0 by by Promise PDC20579

Do i need to worry about loading XP on my system, will I need to do anything special?

SATA is Serial ATA. It is a serial connection as opposed to a Parallel connection which is used in IDE.

The only thing you have to worry abou when installing Windows is to install the drivers for the SATA controller when it asks you to.
