I've posted earlier about my problems with an nf7s rev2, and after getting some new parts, i'm even more confused.

Ram available: 2x256 patriot ddr400(2-2-2-5), 1x256 ocz ddr466(2.5-4-4-7), 1x256 kingston ddr266(2-3-3-6), 1x256 kingston ddr266(2.5-3-3-6)

this board would not initially post with the patriot ram(it would just beep-beep-beep-... one beep every 5 seconds, as long as the motherboard was on.), but would with a stick of valueram. after going into the bios and telling it to run cas latency of 2.5, it would run the patriot ram. half the time when i changed bios settings, the computer would just freeze, not reboot, not beep, no signal to the monitor. when i would turn off the computer(it can't take more than 5 minutes to save settings to the bios) and turned it back on, it would pop up the screen that says "don't turn off the computer when it's saving settings"

Whenever the system tried to reset itself from a bad bios setting (too-high fsb for example), it wouldn't boot until i put in the stick of valueram and set the cas latency back to 2.5.

on saturday, i concluded that the issue with the board not posting was probably fixable with a new bios, so i decided to flash to a more recent bios, using flashmenu. BIG mistake. i ended up with a bad bios chip.

today, i got a new bios chip and the above ocz ram, assuming that the chipset just didn't like cas 2 ram in general. however, after putting in the new bios chip, it still would only post with the valueram(beeping with the other sticks). at that point, i was at a loss. with the valueram, i set the timings to 2.5-4-4-7, at 200 mhz, assuming that the ram would work with the loose timings at that speed. it didn't. I made another change to the bios settings, and the computer never worked after that, apparently ruining a second bios chip. when i turn on power, the fans spool up, but there are no beeps, no nothing. with the original bios chip, it will beep if there is no ram present, but won't do anything if there is.

Would I be correct in assuming that this motherboard is totally ****ed up?

I have this same board and never really had a problem, but I am running valueram and that seems to be the only thing that works with yours. Have you tried clearing CMOS and starting over? And I do think its odd that is does take like 5 minutes to save BIOS settings. Whats up with that. But I have never really had a problem with the board until I try to overclock, then it gets fussy.

You may have been the lucky recipient of a flake. It runs stock fine though, correct? One of my ABit KG7-R's wouldn't run unless the RAM was perfectly installed, centered I guess you could say, in the slot.
