View Full Version : Onboard Sound card problems
hi...I have a Gigabyte 7VM400RZ AMD Motherboard...the problem is that the onboard soundcard gives very low volume levels on the AMD processor in the Headphones.....I have tried the headphones on a Intel processor and it does not have any problems...I can increase the volume levl quite high....the onboard card is a Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver (WDM)....please help.
I didn't find any new driver update for it or the motherboard.

On the motherboard or installer CD's was there any software you could see for configuring your sound... they have this habit of hiding critical software sometimes on the CD's. Usually you can select a sound scheme through software, be it through headphones or 5.1 surround sound etc... the sound software may be able to be downloaded too.

Do you have a driver for it installed at all. You can get the driver from here (http://www.giga-byte.com/Download/Download.asp?DownloadPath=/MotherBoard/FileList/Driver/driver_audio_via.exe).
No there is no hidden utility on the motherboard driver cd. i have searched the cd completely. And yes the sound drivers are installed....just that the volume is too low on the AMD processors....dunno what the problem is....is there any sound amplifier software that boosts the sound level more through software control?

click on the small speaker on the task bar and see if the vol control is moved to a low setting, slide it up and the vol should increase.
also are you connecting the headset to the speaker output jack or the line out jack.
also some of the motherboards have a audio connector confiquration program to set the jack settings, this usally shows up during the reboot of the system.
ok...i'll just check it out. thnx
