Hey all,
I can't seem to see any video, ie: yahoo video, movie trailers etc. Everything else seems to work fine on the Computer. In fact I just formatted the harddrive and reinstalled Win XP with SP2. Half Life 2 works fine, and the such. Am I missing some kind of vide codec or something?
Sig should provide the necessary info.
Just wondering because the wife loves to watch movie trailers and can't at any website she goes to.
Thanks,
Tony
Yep, you need codec. Probably RealMedia and Quicktime. If you, like me, don't like the Real and Quicktime Players, just get RealAlternative and Quicktime Alternative, they both work well, too.

Where do I get these? Their website? Also. I can see video but it's crazy colors, looks like tie-die. Bright oranges, blues, reds, and yellows. You can make out figures and also the sound is fine.
Thanks

Quicktime (and iTunes, which comes with it) runs unnecessary processes, and so if you are not happy about extra stuff slowing your computer down, then I would not install Quicktime at all. I use Quicktime Alternate myself (along with Real Alternate). If you are willing to put up with that, then you should be fine runnig Quicktime.
