hey everyone i am about to buy an lcd monitor and am torn between two models in my price range one is a Princeton that has DVI, a 16ms response time and 450:1 contrast ratio here

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=24-008-019&DEPA=0

or the samsung that has no DVI but a 12ms response time and a 600:1 contrast ratio here

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=24-001-172&DEPA=0

i cant decide and was wondering which is really more important DVI or a lower response time, 16ms is not bad anyway but the contrast ratio is way higher in the samsung as well i will be playing games such as half life 2 on it so the gaming performace is the most important thing

any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, assuming both have the same panel type, you won't see the difference between 12ms and 16ms response time. However, I couldn't find any information about the panel type on the Princeton. The Samsung has TN, which is a very fast panel overall, so that's a very good choice, and it also has a higher viewing angle, and, as you said, a higher contrast.
Samsung is a good brand. I don't know about Princeton, though.

If there really is no other model in that price range with similar specs, but DVI, then I'd get the Samsung.
