Applications quit back to windows

Hi there,

I doesn't matter what app I'm using, but seemingly at random, it will quit back to windows without any warning. It is most likely to happen while playing a heavy game app, but without fail it will happen no matter what app im using. anyone had this before?

What's your hardware setup?
What video & sound drivers are you using?
Which games?
Are you overclocking?

I'm using Windows 98 on a setup of Amd K-2 333Mhz with Awe64 Sound card and Voodoo 3 2000 Graphics card. The games im running (shogun total war and Sim City 3000 usually) have a minimum spec below this so im a bit confused. What has confused me even more is that i installed fireworks and director yesterday, and just that may have cleared the problem, coz it didn't crash after that. Bizarre. One clue that i have is that I installed a beta version of OpenGL at one stage which messed things up for a while but i've uninstalled it now, but that was about 6 months ago.


Sorry, my problem is very vague!
