I have a Olympus D-520 Zoom camera that has worked fine since purchase,
After the SP2 install my computer does not recognize it.
Can you help with my problem?

Not familiar with the camera, but have you tried re-installing any associated software?

You're connecting the camera directly to the computer? Have you tried different USB ports?

Have you considered using a card reader instead?

I have a D-520 and WinXP SP2 but I tranfer images via a Sandisk card reader. I'll see what happens if I connect the camera directly to the computer.

Okay, I connected the D-520 and WinXP recognized it and installed whatever it needed to and I was able to access the images on the camera and move them to the hard drive. But I never connected the D-520 directly to that computer before.

Try going into Device Manager and remove the storage volumes (without the camera attached) and reboot the computer. Hook up the camera again and see if WinXP recognizes it this time.

Thank you Cricket,

For the first time I tried connecting to a card reader (Hawking), but that did not help any. It seems this computer just does not recognize the camera after SP2 install. Have read your last post and sure appreciate all the trouble you are putting in for my problem.
I have a old Dell (stored in the garage), dug it out and tried on it, was able to then read the disc and copy the pictures. Very slow but did prove the camera was ok and the connecting cable. Don't know where to go from here.

Thanks again,
Bill
