Cricket posted a review of a hard drive enclosure: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=118709 (careful about posting replies to that thread, there are special rules for that forum)

Basically you can take any hard drive you like and put it in, and this will probably end up cheaper. You have to buy the hard drive as well as the enclosure though.

Check the Sunday news paper ads tomorrow. Best buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, etc usually have external HDDs on sale or with rebates.

There are 2 reasons why I won't recommend any premade external drives.

1. They are more expensive than putting your own drive in a housing.

2. The premades almost always use lower end drives (2mb cache, sometimes even only 5400 rpm) with a 1 year warranty, and often the premades are difficult to open up and replace the drive without destroying the housing - and this will certainly void the warranty if you try. You can put your own Seagate 8mb 7200 rpm drive in a housing with a 5 year warranty on the drive, and you can replace or swap other drives in and out of the housing easily.

ive looked on ebay, and they sell alot of premade hdd's in external inclosures so i might get one off there, or just get everything from newegg.
