Well, I deleted 9 gigs of my music..Thinking I had it backed up.
Is there a way I can get it back for free?
Thanks in advance.

First and formost, avoid writing to the HDD (downloading files, creating new files, web surfing, installing new programs, etc). Anything placed on the HDD has the potential to overwrite your "deleted" data.

I suggest using one of these two:
Directory Snoop HDD data recovery: http://www.briggsoft.com/dsnoop.htm
Ontrack data recovery: http://www.ontrack.com/easyrecoverydatarecovery/

Try Directory Snoop first. It's a very small simple program that should be able to recover anything that hasn't already been overwritten.

force flow is right, asl ong as you do not use the hard drive where the fiels were you should be able to recover it all. The more you use that hard drive the more of the files will be permanently lost. unless you want ot pay thousands of dollars for a clean lab, even then there is no guarentee.

Eh, I think I overwrote a bunch of the files anyway, I could only recover 188 I think :-(
Oh well, thanks for the help guys!
