Hi.

My computer was recently re-infected with spyware. AdAware, Spybot and SpywareBlaster have done little but tell me that I had Lop (with Adaware claims to have fixed).

I've run AdAware and Spybot, and both are comming back clean.

When ms ie loads (not that I use ie ;) ), it has a search bar that shouldn't be there, and launches a bar down the bottom (it's blue, about twice the size of my taskbar, and has links like 'make money', 'investing', 'music', 'mortgage', some drop down menus and a search box).

There's also a number of icons on my desktop that can't be moved, deleted or right-clicked on (stuff like 'bingo', 'casino online', 'printer cartridges', 'poker', etc).

Hope that stuff helps :)

This log was taken with the newest build of hijack this, after a reboot and once I'd closed everything in the system tray. The log's kinda huge, sorry.

Help will be rewarded with cookies and words of flowery praise :)

I had the same thing. I tried everything until I remembered that I had not updated Spybot with the latest files.... and bingo, it was gone on the next scan. Have you definately updated?

I must admit though, I still have one task bar in msie up the top which I haven't actually tried to get rid of, only basically because I only really use Firefox... I will tackle that one soon... good luck

Shutting down processes after a reboot invalidates the log.

Please read the sticky thread again, and comply exactly. You have at least 2 worms referenced in your O4 run keys. You need to do more comprehensive scanning with more tools before reposting a log.

Well that's good news. I'll try again once I've done so.

Ok. I've gone through my log and found out I've got GOABOT and RBOT worms.

I've let hijackthis fix all the bad stuff, and got a GOABOT removal tool from Symantec (just to be certain). I've run several scans with AdAware, Spybot and the removal tool, all with System Restore off (and one set of scans in safe mode). All I'm picking up is a few DSO Exploits and Lop (occasionally).

Here's my new hijack this log:
