Tom's Hardware Guide did an article (http://www.tomshardware.com/mobile/20041216/index.html) about these recently, and they review two models. The Vantec LapCool2 and the Coolermax Coolpad.

I was hoping to buy a Coolermax Coolpad, but I can't seem to find it at any websites I trust. Newegg has the Vantec LapCool2 in stock, but it didn't perform as well as the Coolpad did.

I was wondering first of all what you guys think of these. Secondly, do you know where I can buy a Coolpad?

Thanks.

I have no experience with this myself, but I know that Antec makes a nifty looking cooler that I have seen at many local computer shops. (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=34-999-850&depa=0) I believe Targus has a model too, but I don't think it would hurt to pick one up locally and test it out.

The Amazon reviews of it weren't too promising, but it's not much trouble to go to your local computer store that has a satisfaction guarantee policy, and picking one up to try out.

Some office supply stores such as staples also carry the Antec, albeit at a higher price. But they do price guarantees.

I just checked a couple of the online retailers I use, and nobody had the Coolmax in their product lists. Sorry, hope you find what you want.
