scanner help..

ive had this scanner for quite a while now.... its a newer model.. (I.e USB connection and powered) but nearly every time ive used it to scan pictures either it be a hand drawn or a picture of something its always come out only half scanned..

any help on this?.. i no its built by cannon and i think the model is Lide 50
