I was looking for a site that could tell me what or where "estimate" files are stored in Quick Books the other day (they charge to email them so if i can find them I can do it my self) Anywhoo, I was surfin around and BAMMO I got Nuked with spyware...adware...virus's....the whole enchilada. I did the spybot thing and the add aware thing, went into safe mode and tried to delete all the files and to no avail. Thank God I have pc-cillin cause it catches all the virus's and quarantines them.
On to my question. whats the best way to get rid of all the registry entries, spy ware and all the crud I got put into my computer and how do i remove a program that is in my "add remove" utility when just clicking "remove" dosent work?

Note to self........dont try to back door Quick Books, there is a big dog at it.

If the program is called "xyz toolbar" search Google for "xyz toolbar removal".

You can try to remove the entries from the Add and Remove Utility if the remove doesn't work and they are still listed there. BUT this envolves hacking the Registry so back up your Registry before you do this.

Start, Run, Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, software, microsoft, windows, current version, uninstall

There you will find a list of the programs on your computer. All you have to do is hi-lite the entry you want to delete and delete it. Reboot your machine and it should be gone from your Add and Remove utility. That should do it. But if it is still there it is listed somewhere else in the Regestry so you will have to do a little back tracking from there till you find it.
