View Full Version : Lga 775
With a new pc should i buy a LGA 775 socket P4 or not? Are all future intel processors going to be LGA 775?

All future mainstream desktop processors, as far as Intel has planned, will feature the LGA775 socket. It seems to me that that technology has considerably improved since its release (considering the Prescott Core Problems) so I'd say LGA775 would be the way to go.

Just be careful when installing them. From what I've head it's like trying to build a skyscraper out of toothpicks in a hurricane. Most delicate pins ever.

Just got thru building with lga775 and was really worried about putting the cpu in the mb cuz of all the talk about being so delicate. However found it really no different than installing a 478 socket. Might just be easier. Course was being very careful.
The thing that I found a little daunting was installing the hs with its 4 pin plastic locks. Rather confusing and hard to get locked in place correctly. Hope they change it. Found the setup to be a little chincy.
However, after all done everything worked fine.
