A way to reset Browser is Microsoft AntiSpyware-Advanced Tools. Worked for me with aboutblank but was called Giant AntiSpyware then. Les

gonna post this before i head to hte shop, Lets just say that all this works for me and then I go to some site that has this crud on it again, what is the best way to "Prevent" these programs from being installed in the first place? is there some kind of software that will prevent malware and spyware from being installed. What one do you guys use?

Well i guess the old saying is true...."Pride comes before a fall" I am almost home tho. I got rid of the about thing and things were goin pretty good untill PC_-Cillin popped up with a window and a virus called "TROJ ALL"......any ideas? I did a google search on it and got nuttin.

Probably a generic detection - was it able to clean it?

it quaranteened it and i deleted it, I didnt see if it could clean it or not. it was located in the "restore" so i turned off restore and got rid of all my restore points. I had to go to Lake Tahoe to check on a job so I havent been able to see if it worked. I will see in the morning if it did.

Yes, But, when i restarted the restore feature and went online I could see About: Blank down in the lower left hand corner of IE (dont know what that area is called) so i did another scan with about buster and that other add aware program (not add aware tho) scanned it like 4 times, once with each one and it seems to be gone.

About:blank is not always a hijack. You can set your start page to a blank page, and that's what it's called.
