Hi, Working on a friends printer. He tells me that it printed good until he needed to replace the cartridges. Now the printing comes out messed up. I cleaned the bottom of the unit that holds the four ink cartridges. I installed the software on my computer. I did that alignment thing A to F for horizontal, and G and H for vertical. Nothing helps. The print is still messed up mostly down the left side of the paper. At the top of the page, the Windows color logo is messed up, but WINDOWS XP looks great. Then underneath the Windows XP where it says PRINTER TEST PAGE, the letters are not correct. it is like the top part of the letters are shifted to the right an eigth of an inch. It seems like as you get to the bottom of the page and to the right, the printing gets a little better. Tomorrow I plan on starting over, and making sure the ink cartridges are correct. It has to have something to do with the new cartridge installation because as I said earlier, he tells me that the printer was OK before he replaced the ink cartridges. In the meantime, I would appreciate any additional suggestions.

mike12, goto www.dpreview.com and scroll down to forums and then scroll down until you come to printers and printing.

Believe you will find more qualified people to answer your questions there.

These forum are mostly for building computers and such. Granted you might find someone here that can answer your question, but dpreview has a lot more people using printers of the kind you are talking about.

Hope this helps.........Good luck...............Sterling :)
