View Full Version : Removal of Old Drivers
Hi everyone,
Tommorow I shall be finally getting my new gfx card. A radeon 9800 pro. At the moment i am using what I believe are the onboard graphics (Intel Extreme) And was wondering how should I go about removing the drivers. Is it best to do it using 'Add/Remove Programs' in the control panel or should i use a specific program?
Cheers,

Here's what I would do. Go into the Device Manager and Remove the Onboard Video/Graphics Device. Shut down the system. Install the new card and connect the monitor. On startup, use the appropriate key to access the bios. Disable the Onboard Video in the bios. Save settings and exit. Let it boot up and install the graphics driver that comes with the new card. You should be good to go.

Thanks, but how do I access my bios... Ive never realy been bothered about overclocking things etc so never experimented with accessing them. And disabling the onboard video, should it be easy to do/self explanatory.

Tap the Del key repeatedly after seeing the splash screen and that should get you in the bios. Disabling the o/b video should be easy to find.
