Seems with getting older and slower and forgetful, I can't tell whether if it has been me not "cruisin' the Mech" as much or that allot of PCM veteran users aren't frequenting as often anymore. There was a time that I recognized at least a few of the forum current users anytime I stopped in. Now, I'm lucky if I recognize any users! :(

It seems with the looser forum rules many of us aren't around as much as we once were or that holds true for me anyway.

I very well understand the older and forgetful part.

I'm still here.. .still cruise the forums, but don't post nearly as often as I used to. The majority of questions are answered before I get to them anyway.

Ya, a lot of folks seem to be missing. I slowed down some, but only because of slow load times (fixed with Firefox) and not having much free time.

Didn't know we had relaxed rules now... ??

I'm still here, but haven't been posting as much due to other interests that have been taking up my time. Also, there have been a lot more knowledgable members hopping on board the last few months, and many questions get answered before I see it.

What is this I hear about relaxed rules? I haven't heard anything about that. Anyway, I'm not exactly a veteran user but I still frequent these forums as much as I did when I first joined.

The rules aren't relaxed - we just do more chewing out in private now and we now remove objectionable threads to our private archives. In other words, discipline is just not quite as visible.

AlwaysUp,

Good to see you back. And although I am not a veteran member, i haven't seen you here for quite a while. And like Hal and Force Flow said, we do have more knoweledge members joining, and most of the posts get answered before any us even see them. Funny, I seemd to remember that you were from CA and not Texas...LOL

Anyway, glad you are back.

I thought this thread was asking about military veterans.

I still drop by occasionally when I have some time. Unfortunately, that's becoming less and less as school and three majors are keeping me pretty busy.

How do you join this so called veteran club? Be here at least four years?

Regardless, many ppl are still here lurking in the background.

Yeah....How does one define "vet user"?

I think when people refer to the "vets" here, they are refering to any of the long term people that when you think "PC Mech", you immediately have these particular people come to mind.

that leaves me out then

Personally, I was referring to users that I have learned allot from over the years and not especially anything to do with post count...more the content of their help. You get a sense of the kind of person they are. Cricket, how did you get the idea I meant military Veteran? Although I am a military Vet and I know Sarge and many others are, I can't get how you arrived at this by my post  . I guess my definition of a veteran user closely resembles that of another old-timer, Hal9000's. Well said, Hal. And no there is NO exclusive "Veteran Users" club. This site has built it's reputation on INCLUSION and not EXCLUSION. I was just waxing nostalgic, that's all.

Cricket, how did you get the idea I meant military Veteran?I just saw the thread title when I thought that. I didn't go into the thread until after I checked the other forums and came back into the General Discussion forum.
