The CEO, Ed Whitacre, has pulled off some great acquisitions - Cingular, Ameritech, New England Bell, Pacific Bell, some overseas ventures, etc. When I was a repair tech and he was in Dallas we drank a few cups together. Buying AT&T has got to spin some heads.
