it's highly dissappointing as the A64s still win :o

Some say that intel is waiting for 64-bit to evolve a little bit. Like until more 64-bit optimized programs and OS'es come out. Whether is a good business strategy against AMD or not, im not too sure.

i just want one of thoses dual core processors they are making :DJust be sure the case you use has excellent cooling because the Dual Core processors run even hotter than the Prescotts. I hear they draw about 116 watts. The Prescotts draw around 103 watts.

They shouldn't have used prescott.

Don't bet on that ;). I'm very enthusiastic about how these new EM64T enabled Intel P4s would do. Hopefully, it alleviated the problems that are associated with the original Prescotts.

Intel should not use prescott for their dual cores. Too much heat

Well, if you guys want another point of view, here are some more benchmarks:
Toms Crappy Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20050221/index.html)
Hot Hardware (http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.cfm?page=2&articleid=641&cid=1)
Tech Report (http://techreport.com/reviews/2005q1/pentium4-600/index.x?pg=1)
FiringSquad (http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/intel_pentium_4_660_3.73ee/)
Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2353)
Intel will need more than upping their FSB and L2 caches to overtake the Athlon 64. The Athlon 64 is just a superior architecture than what Intel has currently (only personal thoughts).
That's why I wonder why some review sites don't include all the benchmarks (the only ones that did san extensive review were Techreport and Anandtech), maybe, they don't want to ashame Intel (well, they already are), that's why they only focus on audio/video ancoding and some synthetic benchmarks. :o
I just hope AMD release their E stepping with SSE3 and 2MB cache to embarass Intel a lot more (only personal thoughts). :D :D :D
