Just curious on which drivers you folks find the best performance with ATI cards and add a few details on why you use them.
cheers

When my 9800 pro was alive, I found anything but the Catalysts to work the best. Found Omegas to be the most effective though.

No problems with catalyst drivers so I have no real reason to switch.
Omega drivers have a great rep over at Rage3D but I still haven't gotten around to trying them.
No experience with DNA.
If you want a recommendation, avoid the CCC, I've had nothing but trouble with it.

No problems with the cat's so never it never warranted a switch to omega or another alternative.
If you're really interested, you might want to benchmark with the cat drivers, then benchmark with the omega drivers and see which brings up a better significant score.

I had good results with the DNAs last year and bad results with the Omegas 2 years ago , never had problems with the Cats but Im not one to go with the grain ;) I loaded up the DNAs as per TINs advice . He also stated that using oddball drivers is sometimes a pain to remove if your gonna go with the CATs down the road . Ill give theses a shot and see how it flows. :)

I've always used ATI's latest drivers for my X800XT PE but had recently heard good things about the Omega drivers, so yesterday I decided to try them out. I ran some benches prior to installing the Omega drivers so that I would have something to compare them to. I installed the Omega 5.1 drivers and my benches went DOWN!

over what drivers? CAT5.2s are supposed to help 3dMark05
Cat 5.2's are better than Omega 5.1's, but omega 5.1's were better than cat 5.1's
Catalysts are fine without the control centre, but they are always outperformed by the equivalent Omega drivers (i've found)
Never used DNA, so Omega gets my vote

I had the Cat 5.2s and then tried the Omega 5.1 drivers and my benches went down considerably so I went back to the Catalyst 5.2s.
RE: Omega Drivers Be forwarned that they were a pain to uninstall (At least for me on my PC they were) Be sure to read the FAQs on the Omega website if you have problems.
Omega drivers were MUCH easier to uninstall than the cats, I just used their uninstall utility and the control panel; no probs whatsoever

How are the Cats hard to uninstall? And to be honest, I've NEVER uninstalled previous Cat versions, just went over the top and never had an issue.
The catalyst control centre was ultra difficult to get rid of. Using the normal uninstall utility it forgot to prevent it from starting up, so I kept on getting errors on startup. I had to go into msconfig and remove all the ATi stuff hanging around

I simply use the Cat that came with my 9800 Pro. It's version 3.10 and I've not had any problems. Plays HL2, DooM 3, Far Cry, etc... all just fine with no problems.

Odd... I didn't like the new control center, so I went back and had no issues uninstalling it.

I haven't verified this, but I heard that ATI now has a removal utility at it's Web site for those that do have problems removing / uninstalling.
im loyal to the Catalyst drivers. its a pain trying to find the leftover dll files once you uninstall Omegas and DNAs. im on the Catalyst 4.12s right now and they work great.
The uninstall utility for the latest Omega's is really useful - worth using

I had issues playing Doom3 with Ati's drivers(card not responding to drivers) and tried the DNA drivers and haven't had the same problem.
As far as removing drivers,if you go to program files-ATI- on your computer, there's a uninstall utility,it will strip out all drivers,it's very effective.
