wireless link (for irda) won't open

HI

i own a ibm thinkpad 600E with a bukt in irda port running win2k (the port is to be exact a IBM thinkpad fast infrared port
i recently bought a palm zire72 also with an irda port
so i thought i'd finally get to use te irda port, but i seem to remeber i have to enable under "wireless link" in the configuration menu , but when i click that icon nothing happens literally, the mouse cursor changes for a sec and thats it, i've checked under task manager and nothing opens...)

Look in your systray. You should have a new icon for the IR.

thanks for your reply GLC but the icon is not there, that's what i am trying to enable but when i go under configuration menu to wireless link (where i have to enable it) the wireless link settings pannel won't open.

Is the IRDA enabled in the bios?

yhea i checked that it was enabled in the bios

but your post gave me another idea i re-instaled the ibm config. app. and behold it worked
