Backup system

I used to have a backup system on my computer when I used win98. It was simply a duplicate harddrive in a removable bay. I could boot from the duplicate drive after I copied all my data and programs and it would be like I booted from the original drive. If effect I cloned the harddrive and it was a exact duplicate.

My problem is that the duplicate drive will not boot in Windows XP after the data is copied. My question is : does anyone know of a way to make the drive bootable by simply copying the drive?

To clone an XP drive and keep it bootable, you need to use software like Ghost or Drive Image. The good old xcopy/xcopy32 won't hack it any more. Too many locked files.
