is there any perfromance increase in running RAID0 on 1 IDE cable? like both drives on the same cable. i know you can only write to 1 drive on the cable at a time so it seems as tho RAID wouldn't work. my new mobo supports raid and i set it up just to see what it would do. i got a better PCMark score but it seems as tho the system is low on RAM now, everything lags a lot! did i just mess it up or something maybe or what?

thanks!

like both drives on the same cable-> In theory, this would defeat half the reasons for using RAID0...

yeah, thats what i thought while i was setting it up but decided i would give it a try anyway. i did get a higher score on HDD in pcmark04 so it must help a little, but the system seems to hang a lot more now. i'm working on getting some SATA drives to do a RAID0 array with but that may be awhile.

does you mobo have only one IDE connector? just get a IDE pci controller card. i have a SATA card on the my comp and it worked fine.

there is 3 IDE connectors actually. 1 is for RAID and the other 2 are regular Primary and Secondary controllers.

i have 4 SATA conectors on it, 2 for RAID and 2 regular i guess.

lol i would rather get the SATA drives and run them from the mobo rather than getting a card.

would it be possible to have the IDE RAID0 and the SATA RAID0 in their own RAID0 array? know what i mean?
