6600 256mb or 6600GT 128mb ?

Hi,

Im buying a new pc & i stumbled upon this problem, Can u help ? :)
1st of all, What's the diffrence between the two cards ? Which is more powerful ? Hmmz GT has 128 & the 6600 got 256 on it ... :confused: Even at 128mb of memory is it faster than the 6600 256mb ?

I badly need your opinions guys, It will help me a lot :)

Yes. The amount of ram does not make anywhere near as much of a difference in the card's speed as does the speed of the GPU itself - and also, the TYPE of ram. In fact, with identical cards with identical TYPE ram, the ones with 256 ram are often a tad slower than the ones with 128mb.

Note that there are different types of ram - DDR, DDR3, GDDR3. This can make a difference, but I don't know how much as compared to the GPU differences.
