:eek: I have a problem with a system i just put together! pcchips m811lu,amd duron 1.8, 256mb pqi memory,samsung 40 gig,radeon 7000 64mb graphics 4x,windows xp home edition. the system posts fine! windows xp install went fine! all drivers loaded! problem is sometimes on start up windows will load and system will just restart! somtimes it will just restart once, somtimes 4 to 10 times before windows will finally load and run. I have run out of brain cells trying to figure this one out! Any one have any ideas? if so please help.

Right click on My computer>properties>advance>start-up recovery. Remove check mark from Automatically restart. Then remove cover form side of case, check to make sure your fan is spining on the cpu. Make sure your ram is installed properly in the dimm slots..

I dont have the system in front of me at this time just doing some reserch at home on the problem. I do know the cpu fan spins, and ram is installed properly,Have checked all connections,system is all new!

One thing for sure problems could be motherboard related. Pc Chips are garbage boards and are know for a lot of problems...

Use DD5's advice to turn off the Auto restart feature. That will allow a bsod rather than a restart. Post back with the error message and we can help you find the source of the restart problem.
