I have a linksys wireless g router and my mom wants to use her laptop on the network. When i turn on the laptop and click on the bubble that says 2 connections available there is my network and another network(it must be my neighbors) and it always connects to that network. When i click on my network from the list it does not do anything? Its a dell laptop with built in intel wireless card.

Does your router have WEP (or WPA) or MAC filtering enabled? If so you will have to use the WEP key or add the laptops MAC address to the routers configuration. If you open your network connections and r-click on the wireless connection you should be able to configure which networks you connect to automatically (the neighbors network should show in the list). Let me know if any of this works.
