Ok my latest problem is that i cannot get connected to my FTP server from a web browser. I read the FTP link that i found in a post on PC Mech:
http://www.pcmech.com/show/network/690/1
so i did as it suggested and so now here is what i have going on:
Software:
Bulletproof Server
No-Ip Dynamic DNS
so, i have the no-ip account in order to solve my dynamic IP address...i also have one for port redirecting (instead of Port 21 i want to use Port 2304) and the software is up and running with no problems so far. I have Bullet Proof FTP server installed and listening to port 2304. So it looks like this:
myname.myftp.org = the DNS Host
myname2.myftp.org = the port (80) redirect
i used this site to check if my port was succesfully opened or not:
http://www.canyouseeme.org/
and it is, which means my D-Link DSL 604 router is configured properly (?)
now the one thing i noticed as i was writing this, is that i have port 80 getting redirected, not specifically port 21, but when i try to connect through my web browser i am entering this:
http://myname.myftp.org
as opposed to
ftp://myname.myftp.org
so that should be ok right? cause by using Http it is going to try and use port 80. (i think)
so i think i am just missing something but i can't seem to wrap my head around it to figure it out.
Now, in Bullet proof i have user accounts set up and folders set up to access, with a file in them so i know if i get it right or not. So, with the proper port opened up, and i have FTP server software running, and i ahve a DNS service running, i can't for the life of me figure out what i am doing wrong. Which is where you come in! :)
Thank you for your help or any suggestions you might have, much appreciated.
