Are you trying to install linux on a second harddrive?
If not, is there any unpartitioned space left on the drive you are trying to install linux on?

Hi,
Buying a second harddrive for only Linux is a definitely an option, and given the prices of hdd's nowadays maybe your best bet. Otherwise, you can obtain some software that will allow you to adjust the size of your partitions. However, this can be tricky and could potentially have unwanted results if not done carefully. HTH

The easiest way would be to install a second hard drive, that way you don't have to worry about losing any data. Just remember the following
hda = primary master
hdb = primary slave
hdc = secondary master
hdd = secondary slave
