Not sure if I have it right but think thats what I have it is linksys wireless on a laptop using XP.
Question is took the computer home where I have a router in basement which connects to desktop computer , Anyway opened up my laptop with this linksysm wireless network and am in on the internet is this what should happen am not familiar with routers and wireless.network cards.
It is not my computer it is my sons work one and the above is what information he gave me. All he was concerned with that he didn`t want to pay for another internet service and I am saying probably it works because of the router being in the basement. Is this right. Thanks

If your router is a wireless router and your laptop wireless card recognises the router and vice versa then everything is ok. Form what I have read in your thread when you turn on the laptop you can connect to the internet then you are not paying for another internet service. You are using the service that is in your house.
