I want to buy one of these.
They're made of the same stuff as those tempurpedic mattresses, but they are only a few inches thick, and are pads instead of the actuall mattress, because your body only goes a few inches deep, the rest isnt needed. Anyway, I want to buy it because its alot cheaper, but when I searched on google, I got a bunch of different companies.

Which company has the best, made of the exact same stuff.

We just bought one for my mother-in-law. Got it at Overstock.com (http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=884135) for $129 plus $1 shipping. She likes it pretty well. My wife spent a week or so researching it and said that this was the best deal.

EDIT:Never mind

It looks good, but money is very right now, and even that is too much, so heres my idea:

I sell my current spring mattress and bed with frame on ebay, and with the money, buy a wooden or metal board and the foam pad, then put the board on another frame I have lying around, and put the foam pad on top. It looks like I wont be needing a mattress if my body will only use a few inches of the pad.

Am I missing something or will this work?

Also, which pillow is best as well?

Personaly I like feather pillows, man made fibre pillows are too thin, uncomfortable, offer no support and become down right manky in no time.

Punk when I was a teenager I lived in an area where the houses were all very similar in shape and style, a friend of mine being a little loopy to say the least decided one day that he needed more room in his bedroom, so he binned his bed and built a very strong frame the width of the room and about four foot deep. This he built approximately six feet off the floor, he decked the frame, put his mattress up on top and slept up there, WE then turned the extra space into a studio for our guitar sessions.

I have one of those pads, you will receive some discomfort with using only it on top of a hard surface. When camping or lounging with my son, I have to fold it in half to make a thicker pad to lay on.

Why would I feel discomfort if my body only goes a couple of inches deep? At least, I was told it only goes a couple of inches deep. I plan on getting the three inch one.

I have a three inch, I could feel the ground/floor/picnic table/etc and could only get comfortable sleeping on my back. I weigh 220 lbs, so I'd venture a guess and say I sink more than 2 inches into the pad.
