Hi,
I have a Netgear WG834G Wireless ADSL router that I am trying to connect to using a Netgear WG311v2 Wireless LAN adaptor but it won't let me connect properly. When I connect, it just sits on 'Acquiring network address' and the DHCP server on the router won't give me an IP. The router IP is 192.168.0.1 and I have tried to manually assign an IP (192.168.0.2) but then it says 'connected' but when I go to the status of the connection, it has not recieved any data and it will not recognise other computers or the ADSL connection from the router.
I have another computer that connects to the router perfectly (through a Centrino chipset), it recognises the router and the router's ADSL connection.
I do not have MAC address filtering on but I have WEP on (although I get the same problem with it off). DHCP is enabled on the router. On both computers, there is no firewall running when I try to connect and both of their IP address settings are on 'automatically assign an IP address'. If I connect to the router using an ethernet cable, it works fine, the router gives an IP without problems. Both computers have Windows XP Home.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
