2 Cat5 cables on 1 computer?

would it be possible to have 2 Cat5 cables going from a computer to a switch for faster file transfer? i realize that you would need 2 from the "client" to the switch and 2 from the switch to the "server" to get it to work, if possible.

is there anyway to do this?

Of course you would need 2 NIC cards but your not going to gain anything by doing that just make sure the 1 you are using is syncronizing at 100MEG full duplex. Think of even the fastest home internet connection available and it isn't even close to 100Meg. Probably better to upgrade to gigabit ethernet if your really wanting to speed up your internal LAN data transfers..

Yes, there is. I've researched it and came to the conclusion that the switch has to support it and they are pretty expensive. So go with the Gigabit Lan suggestion.

Edit: Plus I think you need the DataCenter version of MS Server.

o, so you can't just bridge the connections together or anything? my switch might support it actually! its a 24port swtich i think, rackmountable. not sure on brand, i would have to look but i got it cheap from a member on here awhile back but it looks like a pretty good one.
