I have a dual tuner Dishnetwork 721 satellite receiver (way out of warranty) that appears to be losing one of the tuner cards. Could somebody point me somewhere I might be able to get just the tuner card and not replace the receiver? TONS of dish forums out there, but cannot seem to locate anything technical or parts suppliers. Thanx in advance.... Don

There are very few 3rd party suppliers for DISH Network. DISH keeps their supply chain strickly regulated for the very reason you're looking for parts - they want you to come to them. And rather than sell you a simple part, they will replace your entire unit at a better profit than they could make by selling you just one part.

That's one of the big differences between the two satellite companies - DirecTV has a more open and liberal supply chain but that can cause some quality issues. Anyone that started with an RCA DirecTV system and then went to a Samsung or Sony knows what I'm talking about. DISH Network has always kept a tight reign on their supply chain and their equipment is usually considered to be of higher quality for a comparable model.

Man, your not kiddin,... really cool avatar, by the way! Googled every number on the card....NADA! Even noticed while it IS a plug-in card, there is a tab on the end that sticks through the motherboard that is soldered!! I was gonna switch the cards just to be sure, but will wait to see if a card is even available or not. Dishdepot will give me $100 on a trade up, and sells "Refurbished" 721's for $300 outright, have an email in to them on a swap. Will also post in trading post, might get lucky. Thanx, Sonic!!
