Trying to eliminate my CPU issues I just copped a new one a Dell Optiplex SX270 2.4.Ghz, I figured Id just put in my old hard drive nad go from there, but come to find out the new one uses a laptop harddrive, so now Im trying to basically put all the info from one harddrive to the other, any suggestions how to do that? I have a crossover cable and also have a network going..(the only things I figured that I had that would do it) right now the old one is a slave on another cpu I have because I couldnt get it to boot anymore but it allows me to access the files that way, the old slave has XP, the old master has win2000, and the new one has XP.......................any suggestions welcome

You may have to use an external USB housing if your network doesn't cooperate.

I just bought a Apricorn laptop hard drive and the USB box that goes with it to upgrade the old laptop drive to the new one. It worked like a charm. It is called a
"Universal EZ HDD Upgrade Kit" and cost $57.63.
I now have the old hard drive in it and use it as a portable storage drive.
It came with a bootable CD that loads the USB drivers and clones the old drive to the new one. It worked prefectly.
