My SanDisk MiniCruzer is 256 MB and one day while I was cutting and pasting data from it to my laptop it would not copy one file. I could not get the file however I had to finish with a program install so I restarted the computer and I kept getting a blue screen I could not see because it flashed and rebooted. I had almost resigned to just formatting and reinstalling, all the while I had  little idea it was any of my peripherals. I went to unplug my powered USB 4 port hub which had my hp 2100 All-In-One printer and USB key (sometimes a 12 in 1 card reader, USB hookup for my digital camera, video camera, and a second hp photosmart 7660 that I use to generate my photo images. Although none were hooked in at the time except the aforementioned). I unplugged the drive and the printer and it booted up. I was shocked. I hooked up the printer and restarted, no issue. I then plugged in my USB key and restarted and it would not boot. I had tried, as before to boot into safe mode, last known good configuration, safe mode with command repair module, nothing worked. When I would dismount the drive it would not allow me to do anything to it. Trying to format it in a variety of modes, just about every switch via the command prompt and nothing. Is says that the first sector is damaged, I bought the key at Costco about a year ago but kept no receipt and no packaging. So warranty work is lost. Is there anyone that can help me? I need this drive I do not want to fork over more money. Thanks

I had a problem once with a SanDisk SD card, I didn't have the reciept or packaging either. I sent them an email on the tech page with the problems and they said they would replace it so I just mailed it into them and they sent me a new one.

Also one time I acidentally deleted the partition for my SanDisk Mini Cruizer while I was installing XP  I just repartitioned it and formatted it and it's working fine.

 SanDisk actually is going to replace my mini cruzer for free. I thought I would write them and tell them the truth. I have no idea how it broke and the work I did to try to fix it. I was honest, I told them I do not have the receipt and I never keep them. They are replacing it no questions asked. I was shocked. Usually companies will do anything to get out of it. They even sent me a FedEx label for free to ship it. I am impressed, from now on, I am a SanDisk man!! :D

zyphera ,
I think that it is rare that a company stands by a product like they do. To accept that without a receipt on just my word is remarkable. They really are truly the defintion of customer service.

I know they're awsome! When ever I buy anything like a SD card or USB stick, I always get SanDisk because they are so great. I've heard of people washing their USB sticks and they still work. Today I got a SanDisk 256 MB SD card for only $18 because it was marked 50% off

I agree with all of you...SanDisk makes good products and never really had any issues with it *knock on wood*! :D

I use the 1GB USB drive and it works great, use the SD cards for camera and PDA, the SD card reader/writer, and even my mp3 player is SanDisK!....so I guess you can say that I am a SanDisk man myself.

It's funny how a company that advertises so little can thrive so well  Great products and support that resides in america tend to make the word of mouth.

I have a Cruzer 512 and tried to copy some files to it and two oddly named (quite large) files just appeared. i tried to delete them thinking they were some kind of hash and they wouldn't go away! Changed their properties, no luck. Had to just reformat the drive........

That is wierd, it was a large file that I was copying that corrupted the whole drive.
