My pictures slideshow

Bit of an unsual request this.
I have around 3000 pictures on my PC and I have them scolling as my screensaver via my pictures slideshow.
I sort my pictures by the month they were taken in and it only scrolls the pictures up to October last year.
Can anybody tell me if there is a cache limit or restriction in the number of pictures it can display or give me any hints as to why this is happening.

Are you saying that you have waited for 3000 pictures and actualy counted them???

No I just did a properties check for the number of files and folders, the reason I know they are not displaying is because no pictures after October ever flash up.
