100556 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102362) OEM card that has no "L" at the end of the product number
100556L (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102477) REtail product with an "L" at the end of product number, but cheaper?

im leaning towards the 2nd one, there are a couple cheaper ones but they are refurb, and another retail one for 133.00 that doesnt seem to be much different either. the 2nd one is a weekend only special which is why im thinking i want it. plus its retail so i get all the accessories and software, whereas the other OEM and Refurbs dont have that.

I see absolutely no difference. All the specs look identical. I would defintely go with the retail card if both have the same specs. By the way, that is still a great card. Mine can almost play Doom 3 at the highest settings, without an overclock. I am going to push my 9800 Pro in a few weeks to see if that can change :)

yup my rig turned from budget (2500+ XP, asus mobo, 80 gig hdd, 512 ram) to a gaming/media beast (new dvd combo and dvd-rw, and graphics card) thatll definetely play all the games i wanna play. cant wait to get guild wars and doom III. thanks for the info tho, glc didnt think there was much difference either, and the reason the retail is cheaper is a weekend-only deal. so i bought it! gonna get doom III and guild wars once summer starts! maybe half life 2 also. im into shooting games and some mmorpgs, if u got any recommendations id be glad to hear em!

The only improvement I could possibly recommend for your system right now is if your mobo allows dual channel to get another stick of 512 MB and run 2x512 in dual channel. This would be a noticeable difference and with the price of RAM right now it might be worth it. By the way to run dual channel you need identical RAM sticks.

idk if my mobo does. i dont think im gonna be putting more money into it anytime soon, it only has 2 slots anyway so if i upgrade again its def going to be 512 or maybe 1 gig stick.
