Hi,

I built a computer a while back and now I'm Ready to buy a sound card for it as I heard it will take a slight amount of pressure of the CPU and that the Card may provide a higher sound quality and features. I have picked 3 cards all are 7.1 channel and Creative which do you think would be suitable for someone who plays games (such as HL2) and general DVD watching, but not really needing to record or convert audio. Plus is this a good brand. Thanks.

(As you might have seen in link or page I'm in Australia)

Creative is really the one brand for Sound Cards.

I would choose the Audigy2 Value. The SoundBlaster Live is not much of an upgrade from onboard audio and the Audigy2 ZS, while a very good card is really not worth the money for just games and DVDs. The Audigy2 Value is a great midrange card with the power to be noticeable and an attractive price.

I would go for the Audigy2 value.
The other choices are overkill, the 2 ZS, since you're not primarily interested in music and not quite up to the mark for the SBL24bit.

Thank You, your help is greatly appriciated, although I know a bit about computers some things still elude me.
