Somewhat stupidly, I bought a Dell, not realising there's no AGP or PCI Express slot, so forced to buy a new PCI video card. Just wondering if the PowerColor R92P-LD3 ATI Radeon 9250 256MB DDR PCI Video Card will support Directx 9.0b??? I know it supports 8.0, but noticed on one site selling it - http://www.ateck.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=453057079 - that it was tested on a system running 9.0b. Should I risk it, or will it simply no be compatible with 9.0b??

Thanks for your help!!

John

If you check the supported graphics chipset list for all DX9 games out now you'll fine the radeon 9000 - 9200 series as well as the 8500 radeon cards listed as supported.
NVidia Geforce3 and 4 cards are supported as well.
So the answer to your question is yes you can install DX9, yes it's supported and no you will not be running any 2.0 shaders.
The current DX is 9.0c.
