Hi everybody, I am interested in a Polyview V17D. Is Polyview a reliable monitor? I am looking at this one at Newegg for my daughter and want to keep the price as close to $200 as possible without buying a piece of junk. She will use it for some games, but not the high action ones. She plays SIMS, Rollercoaster tycoon, Zoo tycoon etc. Other than that, the computer is for school, internet, and email.
Thanks,
JB
I don't know, but for 2 bucks more you can get a Sceptre, which I know is a decent brand. If you don't mind playing the rebate game, you can get a LG or a Princeton for a bit less after the rebate, and those are both known good.

Thanks GLC. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I pulled the trigger on the purchase last night. I'll post a review of the Polyview (hopefully a good one!) in a few weeks. :)
This monitor has built in speakers, whcih I know most folks here would laugh at, but it works for me because the old 15" CRT I'm replacing has them also. Not a good reason to choose a monitor, but hey, I'm rationalizing. I searched about on the web and found some user reviews which were positive, no bad ones. So using those as a barometer on the Polyview I gave it a try.
The CRT I'm reoplacing was orginally purchased with a 75 MhZ Acer computer purchased in the mid-90s. My next project is to build a new desk top to replace the P2 Dell my daughter is using. But that's another thread.
