is this a custom built pc or manufacturer built pc (dell, Hp, gateway, etc)? have you opened up your pc and looked at the video card physically to see if there is any writing on it to show what brand and or model number the video card you have is.
give us some specs on your pc??

Open device manager and see what it lists for a display adapter.

We need to know whether it is PCI-Express or AGP. We also need to know your budget and the power of your PSU

If it's a Dell with a 1.7 and Steam is reporting it as outdated, I'd highly doubt it has PCI-E and it may not even have an AGP slot. I'm guessing it's onboard video or something like a TNT2 M64 or a Rage 128 Pro, this is why the poster has to look in device manager and get back with us.

Well in that case budget and PSU wattage is really all we need

That's not all we need - we need to know if it's got an AGP slot.
