CRT or LCD?

I intend to buy a new monitor in the near future, and need to decide between CRT or LCD. I want to spend, at most, $425. As to desk space, the desk it would be on is 36" x 48". The monitor is for gaming and web design. Any ideas on good monitors of either type? Thanks!

LCD's and CRT's are like apples and oranges. The only way to go these days is with a state-of-the-art digital LCD Dvi interface. Your video card must have support for this. 17" is the most popular size with 19" the second.
