Can't open .mpg files on my own server

Hi All,
any reason why i can't open the .mpg file videos which i downloaded from my own website? The .avi files are ok, but when i try to open a .mpg i get an error message saying Windows cannot find "filename[1].mpg"
And why does it re-name "filename.mpg" to filename[1].mpg? no wonder it can't find it if it adds a "[1]" after it. Any ideas??

How are you downloading them? Try right click and "Save as..." record where you save it to, navigate to the folder manually and see if it's there
