Within the computer case there are a total of eight leads. I assume that these leads are for USB ports (2) in the front of the computer case. My guess is that one of each lead will go into the each of the USB ports:

USB1 ............ USB2
1 +5v ........... 2 +5v Color: Red
1 +D ............ 2+D Color: Blue
1 –D ............ 2-D Color: White
1 - Ground .... 2 - Ground Color: Black

I am having trouble figuring out where to place these leads to connect the USB ports. If you look at the graphic you will see that the names for the pins don’t correspond with the names on the leads/wires above.

(the dots are there to create space between the columns.)

What am I missing?

It isn't as hard as it looks. Look at the top diagram to see what pin is what number for each header (group of pins (ie: USB1 or USB 2). The 5v red wires go to power. The +D and -D wires go to pins 3 - 6 depending on if it's pos or neg. Ground goes to ground (GND). No supprise they are named diffrently since they are not made by the same people. You just need to work it out.

Thank you Staren!

Why didn't I see that? Your explanation is very clear. You have cleared up very muddy waters.

Cheers!! :)

You're quite welcome. Sometimes it just takes a fresh set of eyes. You look at something long enough and you'll miss whats right there.
