It's graduation time and my family is letting me build a new computer (thank god). I don't really need anything fancy since the only game I play is Counter Strike 1.6. I just need something that will get me 100 fps constant in that. Right now I have a msi 6600gt video card sitting in my closet that it screaming at me to be used. If someone could put together a decent build (preferably all from new egg)for me incorporating the 6600gt for around $1000-1500 that would be amazing and I would love you all. Thanks for the help.

Other than the video card, what else do you have?
Do you need the OS?
A Monitor?

I need the OS, yes. XP home will be fine. Basically I need everything for the new computer except the video card and monitor.

Oh and I also don't need a mouse and keyboard. Just the innards of the computer itself. Thanks.

Let's get started with the CPU and the motherboard. Depending on your preference AMD or Intel (they are both good), here are the choices.
Intel Pentium 4 540J (208)

Asus P5GD1 Motherboard (108)

OR
AMD Athlon 64 Venice 3000+ (203)

Asus A8N-E Deluxe nForce4 (125)

In net cost, the AMD combination costs more, but not by much. Both are worthy of consideration - depends on your preferences.
Hope that helps,

I would recommend the AMD Athlon 64 ClawHammer/Hammer 3500+ ($270)

For AMD anyway, I don't know about Intel.
Before we start giving recommendations, we need to know if your video card is AGP or PCI-E.
